Just getting started with blind box collecting? You're in the right place. This guide covers everything from understanding rarity tiers to building a display-worthy collection without breaking the bank.
What Is a Blind Box?
A blind box is a sealed package containing one figure from a series — you don't know which one you'll get until you open it. Each series typically has 6–12 standard figures and one or more secret (rare) figures with a much lower pull rate.
Understanding Rarity Tiers
At BOB FIGURES, we use four tiers: Common (standard figures, ~1-in-12), Rare (special finish variants, ~1-in-36), Secret (hidden figures, ~1-in-144), and Ultra Secret (collaboration exclusives, announced separately). The tier system also powers our trading marketplace — you can only trade within the same tier to keep things fair.
Tips for New Collectors
Start with a series you genuinely love the art style of — you're more likely to be happy with any pull. Buy singles before committing to full sets. And join our community marketplace early; trading duplicates for the figure you're missing is often faster than buying another box.
Display tips: UV-protective cases keep colours from fading, and floating shelves with LED strips make even a small collection look impressive.
